Registration Executive Temps (x3)

The Medical Council is seeking to appoint three Registration Administrators (Temporary) on a three month contract from June- Sept.

The Registration team forms part of their Regulatory Operations and Support Services function and is responsible for advising and supporting the Council and related committee and working groups in their statutory duties and powers in the area of registration.

Role Overview

• Report directly to the Registration Managers on all matters pertaining to the Registration Section.
• Organise and execute on-going internal and external communication (including telephone calls, email and letters) with individuals and organisations relevant to the work of the Registration Section.
• Develop and manage information and documentation relevant to tasks and on-going procedures within the Registration Section, including use of relevant information systems and production of reports.
• Observe organisational policies, procedures, good practice guidance relevant to the role and to assigned tasks and procedures.
• Make suggestions for improvements to activity and procedures across the Registration team.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, and the job holder is expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Essential Criteria

• At least 2 years’ experience in an administrative role.
• The minimum qualification requirement is that the applicant holds a Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational training qualification. 

The Medical Council serves as the regulatory body for doctors in Ireland and maintains the Register of Medical Practitioners, which includes all licensed physicians authorised to practice medicine in the country.

 Additionally, the Medical Council establishes the standards for medical education and training in Ireland. It monitors ongoing learning and skill enhancement throughout doctors’ careers by enforcing professional competence requirements. The Council is dedicated to fostering good medical practices and provides a platform for the public to lodge complaints against physicians.



The Medical Council's key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the "Register of Medical Practitioners", check if your doctor is registered to legally work in Ireland.
• Ensuring the highest standards of medical training and education in the Republic of Ireland.
